B.V.P. CALCIUM 20 PLUS INJECTION
FOR SHEEP AND PIGS
A clear, colourless to pale yellow, sterile, aqueous,
injectable solution containing calcium borogluconate
and magnesium hypophosphite equivalent to Calcium
1.5% w/v, Phosphorus 0.7% w/v, and Magnesium 0.28%
w/v. Chlorocresol BP is present as preservative
at 0.1% w/v.
The product is recommended for the treatment of hypocalcaemia
in sheep and pigs before, during, and after birth,
or during lactation, when complicated by magnesium
and phosphorus deficiency.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Administer by subcutaneous or slow intravenous injection,
using aseptic technique.
The actual dose will depend upon the clinical condition
of the animal, and the amount to use is left to the
expertise of the Veterinary Surgeon who may direct
As a guide it is suggested that a dose of up to 50
ml may be used in sheep and pigs.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS, WARNINGS, ETC:
with care particularly where concurrent toxaemia exists.
