PHARMOCILLIN 20/20
FOR CATTLE, SHEEP AND PIGS
PRESENTATION:
Each ml contains 200 mg Procaine Penicillin
G B.P.
200 mg Dihydrostreptomycin (as sulphate) B.P.
USES:
For the treatment of infections caused by bacteria sensitive
to penicillin and streptomycin.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
For intramuscular injection only.
The recommended dosage is 4 ml per 100kg bodyweight,
i.e. 8,000 IU procaine penicillin and 10 mg dihydrostreptomycin
per kg.
Dosage:
Cattle: 4.00 ml per 100 kg bodyweight
Calves: 2.00 ml per 50 kg bodyweight
Sheep: 1.00 ml per 25 kg bodyweight
Lambs: 0.40 ml per 10 kg bodyweight
Piglets: 0.20 ml per 5 kg bodyweight
Sows: 3.00 ml per 75 kg bodyweight
Clean the area of injection and swab with spirit.
The maximum dose volume recommended at any one site
for cattle is 20 ml.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS, WARNINGS ETC:
Not for use in animals with known sensitivity to penicillins.
Occasional allergic reactions to penicillins have been
observed, but these are rare.
Not for use in lactating ewes producing milk for human
consumption.
WITHDRAWAL PERIODS:
Milk should not be used for human consumption during
treatment or for 72 hours thereafter.
Animals should not be slaughtered for human consumption
during treatment or for 21 days thereafter.
PHARMACEUTICAL PRECAUTIONS:
KEEP OUT
OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
For animal treatment only.
Shake well before use.
Store between 2 degrees Centigrade and 8 degrees Centigrade.
Avoid the introduction of contamination during use.
Once the vial is broached, use contents within four
weeks.
Wash hands after use.
PACKAGE QUANTITIES: 100 ml vials.
ENVIRONMENTAL WARNING:
Unused product or waste material should be disposed
of in accordance with current practice for pharmaceutical
waste under national waste disposal regulations. |
