RESPITE 150 LA
FOR CATTLE, SHEEP AND PIGS
PRESENTATION:
A white to off-white, sterile, long acting suspension
for injection. In an oily base containing 150
mg equivalent Amoxycillin, as Amoxycillin Trihydrate
B.P., per ml.
USES:
RESPITE 150 LA is a broad spectrum bactericidal
antibiotic, active against a wide range of gram positive
and gram negative organisms, including:
Clostridium sp., Corynebacterium sp., Erysipelas sp.,
Fusiformis sp., Haemophilus sp., Pasteurella sp.,
Streptococci spp., Salmonella sp., and Staphylococci
sp.
Specific indications:
Pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, abscesses,
wounds, joint / navel ill.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
For deep intramuscular injection only.
Shake vial well before use.
The recommended dosage is 15 mg per kg bodyweight,
i.e. 1 ml per 10 kg.
Dosage:
Cattle: 10.00 ml per 100 kg bodyweight
Calves: 5.00 ml per 50 kg bodyweight
Sheep: 2.50 ml per 25 kg bodyweight
Lambs: 1.00 ml per 10 kg bodyweight
Piglets: 0.50 ml per 5 kg bodyweight
Sows: 7.50 ml per 75 kg bodyweight
Massage the injection site after administration.
In adult cattle, the volume should be divided between
two injection sites.
Therapeutic plasma levels are maintained for 48 hours
in cattle and sheep, and for 36 hours in pigs.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS, WARNINGS ETC:
Not for intravenous administration.
Occasional local reaction may occur.
Occasional allergic reactions to penicillins have
been observed, but these are rare.
WITHDRAWAL PERIODS:
Milk should not be used for human consumption during
treatment or for 5 days thereafter.
Animals should not be slaughtered for human consumption
during treatment or for 28 days thereafter.

KEEP OUT OF REACH
OF CHILDREN.
For animal treatment only.
Store below 25 degrees Centigrade.
Avoid the introduction of contamination during use.
Should any apparent growth or discolouration occur,
the product should be discarded.
Once the vial is broached, use contents within four
weeks.
This product contains no preservative.

ENVIRONMENTAL WARNING:
Unused product or waste material should be disposed
of in accordance with current practice for pharmaceutical
waste under national waste disposal regulations. |
